I’m so excited for the launch of OPI Hawaii – spring collection (available February 4th – swatches coming soon).
A few months ago I was lucky enough to be invited to a sneak preview of the much anticipated spring collection: OPI Hawaii. The event was a delicious Hawaiian inspired lunch (including to-die-for coconut cocktails) held at one of my favorite brunch spots in Toronto – Mildred Pierce Temple Kitchen. The guest of honour (wasn’t me sadly) but was none other than Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, Executive VP & Artistic Director of OPI and also known as the “First Lady of Nails”.
One of the best parts of the event? Of course meeting Suzi herself was fantastic, but definitely the sneak peak of the collection was a serious highlight! It was very clear early on that a few of us had already picked our favorites in the collection – at the top of the list was OPI That’s Hula-rious! a gorgeous mint cream polish.
OPI had a team giving manicures in the new shades. Here you can see the gorgeous freshly polished nails of Marta from ChitChatNails and Eugenia of Ommorphia Beauty Bar who both chose to get manicures in OPI Hula-rious!
So before I swatch all 12 shades, I couldn’t wait to create some nail art with OPI That’s Hula-rious! For those who can’t wait, here is a sneak peak of OPI Hawaii.
The design I created is not new – I created the same thing last year using China Glaze Shocking Pink and essie Matte About You top coat.
Last time I did this design I had a little smudging of the black when I applied the matte topcoat, so this time I waited a whole hour for the black (I used acrylic paint) to dry before applying my topcoat.
Though OPI That’s Hula-rious! looks fantastic with a glossy topcoat – I think it also looks great with a matte topcoat (this time I used Nicole by OPI Matte Top Coat) don’t you?
What will your favourite in the collection be?
Until next time,

Thanks for including mine & Marta’s nails here! Loved meeting you and getting the chance to chat – even if it wasn’t all that long. You’re so right that it was a wonderful event & the theme! Sigh…..! PS: Great nail art you created here!
