As summer is quickly wrapping up (insert tears here) – it’s time to start thinking about fall. Fall beauty, fall fashion, fall food, there’s actually a lot to get excited about when thinking about switching gears from our summer routines. With so much to think about for fall, no doubt you’ll be making your ‘wish lists‘, ‘must have lists‘ and ‘buy it now‘ lists (yes I have 3 separate lists). As my lists keep growing, being budget conscious becomes really important. If I cut costs on my wish lists, all of a sudden some of these items make it to my must have list and eventually, if I’m really smart with my $$$ (and my self-convincing strategy), these items will make their way to the buy it now list. Hey all before I know it I’m going shopping!
Shopping on a budget doesn’t mean that we have to sacrifice our serious sense of style or love of quality. My strategy is to stay chic on the cheap so that I really get the most for my dollar! That’s why today I want to share with you 5 recent beauty purchases which support my goals of staying cheap chic for fall!
5 Cheap Chic Beauty Products
Have you tried wet n wild lately? I don’t know about you, but before I tried this brand recently, wet n wild reminded me of the cheap blue eye shadow that I used to put on when I was 12 (and not in a good way). Well let me tell you friends – this brand has come a LONG way. Check out their INSTAGRAM account – it’s completely inspiring! wet n wild are making some really good quality products at a fraction of the cost of our fave luxe brands. I’ve picked up my faves (they all happen to be pink of course) and am sharing them with you today so you too can join my mission of staying cheap chic for fall!
wet n wild megaplump mascara (above): This mascara is intended to help give your lashes serious amounts of volume and only costs $3.99! Of course I love my mascara to be as black as possible (shade: very black).
wet n wild color icon blush (above): You would never guess that this silky smooth powder blush was only $2.99! Its lightweight, long-lasting and highly pigmented formula seriously wows. My shade of choice – fantastic plastic pink.
wet n wild silk finish lipstick (above): Have you ever bought your favourite lipstick for less than $5? Me neither, but I purchased a few of these and I’m seriously in love. This lipstick offers rich colour, vitamins A and E, and aloe vera to help enrich your lips. While colour payoff isn’t as intense as your Urban Decay Vice lipsticks, these lipsticks look great if you’re looking for a wearable understated colour. The best part? $0.99 (yes I’m serious) and my favourite shade is Pink Ice.
wet n wild megaslicks lipgloss (above): $1.99 for a lip gloss? Yes please :)! Available in a huge array of colours, this ultra glossy formula adds shine and moisture at the same time. I went for crystal clear to use on top of my favourite matte lipstick. Pucker up!
wet n wild megaslicks balm stain (above): I love this balm stain! It glides on so smoothly and helps condition your lips at the same time. Of course, this is because it is infused with acai and palm oil. It provides really light colour payoff if you like a subtle effect. You can also layer it on top of your favourite lippie for a more intense colour. Top tip: you can also use this to give you rosy cheeks if you are without blush! Shade – A Stiff Pink , $2.99.
So are you with me for staying cheap chic this fall?
Until next time,
