Just when you think CND couldn’t come up with any more must have polishes after the launch of their stunning Spring 2014 Open Road collection (See full collection HERE), get your wallets ready for the summer collection because as of March 1, 2014 (aka NOW!) CND Paradise Collection is available world wide.
With the perfect mix of bright summer colors and fashion forward trends, today I’m going to show you the whole CND Vinylux collection. (EDIT: JUNE 11 – WIN THE COLLECTION HERE!)
For those of you that are not familiar with CND Vinylux, it truly is a great option when you don’t want to deal with the whole soaking off factor of gel polishes (which for some brands take upwards of 20 mins), but you still want to wear something that lasts more than a day or two, CND Vinylux might be the perfect answer for you.
According to CND the three main benefits to the Vinylux System is:
- Allows for week long wear
- Self-adhering Color coat
- Durability is increased with natural daylight
Vinylux must be paired with the special weekly top coat to ensure maximum benefit from the polish. The other great benefit with the Vinylux system is that you don’t need to use a base coat. With the elimination of a base coat (don’t worry, I’ve tested it and I haven’t yet had any problems with staining), you automatically save time. The idea is that the polish and top coat toughens over time with exposure to natural light. Removal requires an acetone based polish remover to come off quickly.
Now, let’s have a look at the CND Paradise Collection (also available in Shellac).
Cerulean Sea
A stunning bright blue that goes on with two easy coats. I couldn’t bare to take this off, so wore it out and about and got a ton of compliments. No negatives from me. The perfect blue.
Bicycle Yellow
Similar to many yellows out there, including OPI I Just Can’t Copacabana, it’s still just fabulous. Obviously the others don’t have the same week long wear promise, so I’m happy that CND added a gorgeous yellow to the summer collection. Easy application with 3 thin coats for full coverage. There is a very subtle shimmer that you can see under certain light, but was very hard to photograph as it is so subtle.
Electric Orange
A beautiful orange that has been carried forward from past lines, so clearly a best seller. It’s the perfect creamy consistency and looks great with three thin coats to avoid visible nail lines (VSL).
Lush Tropics
I love this grass green color. It’s a fabulous color for spring and summer and would look great with all the colored denim that has been hot for the last two summers and continues to gain popularity in the fashion scene.
Sultry Sunset
More of a shimmery fushia, Tango Passion covers in just one coat, but best to apply two for week long wear.
Tango Passion
I’m not sure why CND came out with two colors so similar, but Tango Passion is a darker pinky purple than Sultry Sunset. A really pretty color with soft shimmer that also covers in just one coat (but remember to apply two for maximum durability and wear).
The Verdict?
Will Spend My Starbucks Money On:
- Cerulean Sea
- Lush Tropics
- Bicycle Yellow
Might Miss One Starbucks This Week For:
- Tango Passion
- Electric Orange
I’m Not Giving Up My Starbucks For:
- Sultry Sunset
What are your favorites from this collection? These colors are also available in Shellac – have you tried any?
