Today I’ve created my watercolor nails for September Nail Art Ideas Linkup.
Watercolor nails are extremely simple to do and are beautiful when complete. There are many different ways of creating watercolor nails, but my favorite (first shown here with Seize The Nail’s Post for Nail That Accent), is using acrylic paint mixed with water over a solid nail polish base.
I’ve also had some really odd and what I kind of think are creepy, cat and dog water decals from Born Pretty Store that I’ve been dying to try! (If you want to get 10% off your Born Pretty Store Purchase then enter SAYG10 at checkout). I thought these decals would look hilarious over my watercolor nails.
I chose a nude, gold and pink color scheme. I started with my base: OPI you’re so vanilla. I then used two different pinks, and gold acrylic paint mixed with water to create the watercolor effect. Finally I sealed the design with HKGirl topcoat and added some triangular gold glitter also from Born Pretty Store (enter SAYG10 at checkout for 10% off your purchase).
Although these nails are kind of creepy with these cat decals, they actually are really kitsch and are pretty fun. Definitely when you’re tired of glamour and glitch and want to be a little crazy, this is a fun and different look. Believe me, people will be grabbing your finger nails to see up close whereever you go.
Until next time,
