One of my top five makeup brands, Urban Decay, has launched three new products recently that I’ve been drooling over for the last few weeks. It’s time to stop keeping these goodies to myself and share the love with you (especially with holiday season coming up).
The three newbies I’ve been obsessing over from Urban Decay are:
- Urban Decay Vice4 eyeshadow palette
- Urban Decay 24/7 Waterline eye pencil
- Urban Decay Naked Illuminated – Shimmering powder for face and body
Urban Decay Vice4
Inspired by a vintage UD shade: Oil Slick, Urban Decay Vice4 features a stunning array of colours with a wide range of finishes from buttery smooth mattes and shimmering metallics to shades laced with micro-glitter.
As with many Urban Decay eyeshadow palettes, the packaging itself is stunning. It comes in an extra slim case topped with a dimensional web of broken-down facets layered over a matte black lid. It also comes with a cute coordinated bag to keep your Urban Decay Vice4 protected, but it also doubles as a great bag for stashing your brushes!
Each eyeshadow in the Urban Decay Vice4 features the Urban Decay Pigment Infusion System – a blend of ingredients that allows colour to weave itself through the formula. The result? Cray colour payoff, colour that stays put and sparkle that doesn’t fall. Add a nice primer and these properties reach an even higher level – all essentials to me when investing in an eyeshadow palette.
With 20 gorgeous, never before seen shades, Urban Decay Vice4 contains a range of deep brights and smoky neutrals.
The intense pigmentation and shimmer on the pinks and greens in this palette are beyond amazing! The swatches don’t do them justice!
As with all Urban Decay eyeshadow palettes, Urban Decay Vice4 comes with a double-ended brush perfect for application and blending.
Price: $70 CAD/$60 USD
Availability: Sephora, sephora.ca, Shoppers Drugmart and urbandecay.ca
24/7 Waterline Eye Pencil
The Urban Decay eye pencils are developed specifically for use on the inner rim in the waterline. The creamy, demi-matte pencil lays down waterproof colour that lasts (tested out, mine lasted all day from 7am-8pm with very little smudging or colour fade).
The formula glides on easily and goes anywhere you want to put it! According to Urban Decay, lining the upper lid waterline (something you probably didn’t even know you had) is what really makes the eye pop without making the overall look too dark.
Price: $24 CAD/$20 USD
Availability: Sephora, sephora.ca, Shoppers Drugmart and urbandecay.ca
Naked Illuminated Shimmering Powder
I’m a true sucker when a beauty product has the word ‘illuminated’ in the description, let alone the actual name of the product! Anything that I can use as a highlighter or bronzer, I’m all over!
The Urban Decay Naked Illuminated in LIT is the newest shade of Naked Illuminated Shimmering Powder for Face and Body (there are two other colours: aurora, a soft pink shimmer and luminous, a champagne shimmer). A really beautiful, universal soft bronze shimmer with a golden bronze sparkle, LIT looks gorgeous on any skintone from pale to deep-dark.
Simply dust on this beautiful smooth, silky powder wherever you want to create an instant glow.
Naked Illuminated comes in a gorgeous box and makes the perfect gift for any beauty junkie. The case even comes with a good sized mirror and a brush (housed in a separate compartment).
An interesting little fact about this illuminating powder in how its made, is that it actually gets baked on a terra cotta disc for 24 hours and then is finished by hand! Apparently baking the powder gives it a high level of perfect shimmer and provides the colour payoff of a loose powder. I’m seriously in love with this beauty.
Price: $35 CAD/$30 USD
Availability: Sephora, sephora.ca, Shoppers Drugmart and urbandecay.ca
So there you have it, 3 new must-try items from Urban Decay this fall. Looking for the perfect gift that will fit anyone’s style? Pick up the Urban Decay Naked Illuminated in “LIT” – I don’t think anyone would be disappointed receiving this beauty!
