If you’re looking to revitalize your skin, replenish nutrition, revive radiance and visibly reduce the signs of aging than you may be interested in exploring this line.
Every product in this range contains a blend of three seed oils, known for their supreme abilities to repair and revitalize skin. You might think that applying oil directly to your skin goes against everything we learned growing up (“oil makes you break out”), but in fact, healthy oil that is absorbed properly into the skin actually helps keep your skin healthy and repels dirt and other debris.
The Body Shop Oils of Life range is made up of three oils:
Black Cumin Oil – from the Egyptian Nile Valley, known for its concentration in antioxidants
Camellia Seed Oil – from the evergreen trees of China, known for its nutritive oleic acids; and
Roship Seed Oil – from the Andes foothills of Chile, known for its concentration of Omega 3 & 6
According to Dr. Terry, Global Skincare Expert for The Body Shop:
There’s a reason why oils have become skincare’s new obsession: not only are they incredibly nourishing, ultra-lightweight and quick to absorb – but they also have the perfect texture to penetrate skin easily and deeply.
Let’s check out a few of of my favourites from the range.
The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Essence Lotion is an essential first step in prepping the skin. Replacing a toner, this lightweight lotion will actually nourish the skin and after a minute on the skin will help your moisturizer absorb better.
Apply the Intensely Revitalising Essence Lotion directly after cleansing, in the morning and night.
Cost: $22 CAD (160 ml)
The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalizing Gel Cream is probably my favourite in the range. A dewy-fresh gel cream with illuminating micro-pearls, this is a lighter alternative to heavier face cream. You only need a pea-sized amount of product to get the desired effect.
Cost: $34 CAD (50 ml)
The Body Shop Oils of Life Intensely Revitalising Cream also contains micro-pearls that help the product absorb into the skin. A little heavier than the gel cream, this product does not make your skin feel greasy at all. Similar to the gel, you only need a pea-sized amount to reap the full moisturising benefits of this product.
Cost: $34 CAD (50 ml)
There is also a Potent Facial Oil ($44 CAD, 30 ml) in this range that is intended to revitalize the skin and visibly reduce the signs of aging. I didn’t test out this product so I can’t speak to it but I do know that I love applying facial oils in the evening as an extra moisturising treatment, so I am curious to try this one out.
