Who says Mondays in freezing cold and icy weather have to be blah?
To improve my Monday mood today, I’ve treated myself to multiple hot chocolates, bathed my dry and cold fingies in pumpkin spice cuticle oil (Glisten & Glow has my favourite scented cuticle oils) and am planning on a hot bubble bath with my favourite book in a few hours.
I did a quick nail of the day (NOTD) today for the Instagram January Nail Art Challenge run by @Californails.
For sparkles, I decided to plan my nail art around Zoya Pixie Dust “Carter” which is a textured sparkly purple micro glitter polish. Quick tip on this polish – it’s absolutely stunning, but if you don’t let it dry completely between coats, the polish looks dull in color. In the pictures below, I have three coats (let each one dry completely between coats) and a HK Girl top coat to give it the glossy shine.
I love purples paired with more neutral greys and black so decided to do a chevron accent nail with these colors (using a small nail art brush and striping tape to paint the chevrons). I then used some diamonte studs (purchased from Claire’s) and attached them with top coat to my index, pinkie and thumb nails.
The result is a sparkly skitlette manicure for a drabby Monday afternoon.
In the first pic you can see my christmas present from my hubby – Tiffany’s Elsa Peretti Diamonds By the Yard bracelet. I love it!
I hope you enjoyed this look.
Until next time,
