We know that social media is important and that some social media gurus have reached celebrity status, but who knew that in 2016 there would be so many multimillion dollar brand collaborations with social influencers? I guess we should have known that this was coming when the Kardashians rose to fame in 2007…
One of the hot new brand collaborations is with Formula X and its new #ColorCurators, a first-of-its-kind collaboration where 10 hugely popular social media influencers in beauty, fashion and wellness join Formula X to express their signature style through limited-edition nail colours. Each month, one Color Curator will reveal three new limited edition shades – each inspired by their own passions, lifestyle, and personal expression.
To kick off 2016, the first of many #ColorCurators, is Aimee Song, of Song of Style. Fashion “IT Girl”, Aimee was inspired by her love of everyday basics and wanted a collection with three neutrals that would be the perfect accent (my kind of girl), to any outfit.
I think Aimee and I are meant to be friends, because everything about these lacquers are spot on! From formula to colour, if you’re a polish lover, you won’t want to be without these three limited edition hues.
I find pastel polishes are usually streaky and thin and can be difficult to work with, but I had no problem with the mint “mintfluencer” and pink “girl’s best friend”. All swatches below show two coats, and “nude for you” actually only required one coat!

I loved these hues so much that I had to experiment with some ombre nail art.
I decided I wanted to add some stamping (used BM-XL152 from the Around the World Collection) and a matte topcoat. Which do you prefer?
All rings worn above (except for the mint stone) are available on my Stella & Dot site.
These 3 polishes from the #ColorCurators Collection is available now at Sephora for $16CAD/$12.50US. Stay tuned for February’s Color Curator coming soon!
Until next time,
