When I was growing up, I always remember being told that “pink and red should never be seen except for in the washing machine!”. Well guess what? Gone are those days, and now pink and red are one of my favourite colour combinations – hence my need to pair these two gorgeous YSL nail polishes (rouge pop art and rose renaissance) together.
I love the look of the YSL nail polish bottles, so elegant. The square cap just pops off (similar to Butter London and LVX nail polishes) and you’re left with a round, easy to hold, twist off cap.
To showcase these two beautiful polishes, I chose to do a half moon manicure using the pink as my base and the red on top.
It’s funny, I was wearing this manicure to work and my client (of course it’s a guy) asked why I didn’t paint my cuticle?
To create the ‘half moon’ effect, I used round paper reinforcers over the pink base (once it was 100% dry) to create the half moon perfect shape.
What’s your opinion on pink and red?
Until next time,
