After two days of experimenting with OPI Sheer Tints (see pink ombre HERE and yellow vertical ombre HERE), today I tried the other two OPI sheer tints in the new collection: BLUE: “I can teal you love me” and PURPLE “Don’t violet me down”.
Watercolor Design
To create this look, I first polised my nails with two coats of “Alpine Snow” by OPI. Then I added a glop of each of: “I can teal you love me”, “Don’t violet me down” and “Be magentale with me” on a piece of tin foil. Using a scrunched up tiny piece of saran wrap and my tweezers, I then dabbed the piece of saran wrap into each of the globs (one at a time) and dabbed the polish onto the nail – this creates a look similar to a water color painting.
I then added some pink, blue and silver studs to the design which I thought brought the look together.
Purple OMBRE
To create this look, I started with a white base and then applied one coat of “Don’t violet me down” to all five fingers. Once this was dry, I applied a second coat to four fingers (excluding the pinky) and so on. OPI sheer tints actually can create a bit of an ombre look just on its own too (the pinky finger shows this well).
I hope you enjoyed this look.
Until next time,

Great shades!
Thank you
Thanks for experimenting with these tints/polishes, and showing your results. I liked the idea of them since first hearing of them, but wasn’t sure what to do with them. I can see them in a grunge mani also, with one or two colored polishes. I think they deserve more love than they seem to be getting from nailistas!
I’m so glad you enjoyed them. Definitely a fun look.
