OPI’s annual spring soft shades collection celebrates the new upcoming Muppets Most Wanted movie, with eight new movie-inspired limited edition lacquers available in March.
According to the press release:
With an all-star cast including Kermit the Frog, Constantine, Ricky Gervais, Miss Piggy, Ty Burrell, Tina Fey and the whole Muppet gang, this family comedy is directed by James Bobin and written by Bobin and Nicholas Stoller. Muppets Most Wanted opens in theaters on March 21, 2014.
“The Muppets are a fun-loving, colorful cast of characters. These eight new nail lacquers were inspired by their latest adventures in Disney’s Muppets Most Wanted, which include a glamorous international stage tour – and lots of surprises,” explains Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Co-Founder & Executive VP. “Fashionable Miss Piggy is represented through soft pink, peach and pearlescent hues, as well as a frosty sapphire blue – Miss Piggy’s Big Number – to match her fabulous tour gown. The remaining four shades highlight the film’s unexpected elements and include a color-shifting mauve and three sparkle-packed lacquers – including my personal favorite Gaining Mole-mentum, a gold and rose chunky shredded glitter.”
Muppets Most Wanted by OPI includes the following shades:
Muppets World Tour
A white quartz with colorful sparkle suspended throughout. Applied evenly over Int’l Crime Caper.
Miss Piggy’s Big Number
A sapphire blue metallic that reminds me of OPI “Push and Shove” as it has a mirror-like quality if applied exactly perfectly, otherwise appears a little streaky. The color is so electric, I don’t even care about the streaks. Shown here with no topcoat and just two coats.
Let’s Do Anything We Want
Rose gold glitter with white confetti and larger white square glitter. OPI has done a great job with their glitters as this applies easily and gives full coverage as well. Shown here over “I Love Applause”.
I Love Applause
Sheer, sweet pink that goes opaque with three easy coats. Shown here without a topcoat. If you prefer the sheer look, only 1-2 coats is necessary.
Kermit Me to Speak
A duochrome rosy mauve that is just stunning in different light. From the right angle, the polish appears mauve, but as you move your hand the color is infused with a metallic earth toned sheen. Application is a little streaky, but again, I don’t care because the color is so fantastic! Shown here with no topcoat.
Gaining Mole-mentum
This shredded gold and chunky pink glitter is beyond fabulous. It looks as though pieces of foil were shredded into the perfect combination for an easy-to-apply glitter. Here I layered it on to show the density of this glitter, but I image it would also look lovely if you wiped most of the glitter off the brush and swiped it over a silver or pink metallic shade.
Int’l Crime Caper
An opalescent pearl that has the perfect pink shimmer to it. Rather sheer, it’s shown here with three thin coats and no topcoat. Also looks perfect with 1-2 coats for a glistening nude natural nail.
Chillin’ Like a Villain
A sheer nude with an orange undertone goes opaque (my preference) with three thin coats shown here. How shiny is this without a top coat? I love this color.
All in all, this collection is varied and gives you a little bit of everything from sheer creams to duochrome metallic to glitter. I definitely would not want to be without “Miss Piggy’s Big Number” or “Gaining Mole-mentum” – truly original and never seen before polishes.
What are your favorites? What can you live without? I would love to hear.
Until next time,

Thank you so much!
OMG it was so hard taking the off. Swatching is fun but so sad at the same time.

Just bought ‘let’s do anything we want’ and ‘Kermit Me to Speak’ only because I did not want to walk out empty handed. Not impressed with the overall collection.
Well I think those are some good pics. I think you’ll be happy.
Where are you finding these?? Nobody Aaron’s here has them, nor does Ulta in OKC. =/
