First off, I want to thank all my tremendously supportive readers for voting for me in the MIB awards. A nail art blog has yet to become a top beauty blogger in Canada so I’m thrilled that Nail That Accent has made the top 10 with your support. Now it’s onto the judges to vote for the top 3 – let’s see what happens!
Nail Polish Companies Want a Gel-Like Polish
Looks like gel, but isn’t gel. Lasts as long (or almost as long as) gel but isn’t gel. If you can develop one of these types of nail polish in your nail polish line than you are meeting the mega desire of all nail polish addicts out there. You know who you are. You don’t go to the salon to get your nails done, or you’re not licensed or trained to use an LED or UV lamp at home, or you just don’t like the soak-off system and the time and maintenance involved.
One of the newest additions to the nail polish gel “look-a-like” formula is OPI Infinite Shine.
Let’s face it, soaking off any polish is a pain – even if it’s a short soak off time (you have to cut the foil pieces, soak your cotton, try to get each individual cotton and foil on all on your fingers without it falling off etc). With gel-like formulas, yes you might not get as long wearing a polish, but you definitely get the shine.
I love how OPI has made the OPI Infinite Shine brand stand out from the other bottles with the chrome silver tops.
Once you have your 3 step system, you’re ready to apply your polish just as you would any other – base, polish, topcoat – voila!
The color I’m showing off today is called In Pursuit Of Purple – a stunning lavender color.
Application and Longevity
I’m thrilled with the results so far – this polish is not only easy to apply (I love the OPI standard ProWide brush), but it’s definitely shiny. In terms of longevity – I was able to wear the polish for five days with no chipping. Day 5 I had a minor chip, but the manicure lasted for 8 days so I was super happy with that.
The OPI Infinite Shine Gel system has been available since November 3rd at professional salons and spas for $14.95.
Until next time,
