Welcome to the OPI family – a 9 polish palette of bright, electric shades for summer: OPI Brights 2015.
The 9 polishes can be worn on their own for a sophisticated manicure, or used to create fun summer nailart looks like you see here.
The OPI Brights 2015 Collection features six completely new shades and three beloved faves from the OPI Neon collection from last summer. If you missed them last year, now’s your chance to grab them!
If you remember, the neon collection from last summer also featured a white base coat that really helped the colours POP. This summer, there is no white base coat included in the collection so I wanted to show you the swatches as is. While the colors are bright, they certainly aren’t neon and I do think if you wanted to showcase the colors more intensely, a white base would really make them appear much brighter (swatches from last year showcase the white base coat so you can see the difference).
Let’s take a look at the swatches.
A citrusy lemon, lime this colour is definitely a must have for summer. I’ve actually been wearing this full manicure for the last few days and have had a ton of compliments. The same formula as Life Gave Me Lemons from last year, you can see from my past swatches that with a white base coat, this colour truly pops into a bright citrus.

The final of the three re-released colours, Hotter Than You Pink is certainly a favourite of mine. It’s bright without the need for a white base coat, and it also has the perfect element of iridescent sheen to it.
Let’s have a look at the 6 completely new hues in the OPI Brights 2015 Collection.
Above: My Car has Navy-gation
Probably the least favourite of mine in the OPI Brights Collection is this deep jelly-like navy. It’s far from bright (so I’m not sure why it’s included in this collection), and is very difficult to work with because of it’s jelly-esque formula. The polish dries quite quickly, so you have to work fast. Now all that said, I spoke to my friend who is also testing the polishes, and this is one of her favourites because she loves the colour so much and although she agrees it’s a little tricky to work with, she feels it’s worth it.

What a fun summer glitter topper. I gave you a sneak peak the other day of all the pinks in the OPI Brights 2015 (click HERE if you missed my butterfly nails). I’m not a huge fan of glitter toppers but I do love this one. I think it would look really fun over a nude nail as well! As with any glitter polishes, this polish is a little more challenging to remove. I recommend soaking in acetone for 2-3 minutes before attempting removal.

Another stunning unique shade in the collection – I Sea You Wear OPI really does remind me of the glistening ocean at sunset. Since my nails are really long right now, I found I needed three coats to cover my free edge completely, but in most cases two coats should be fine.
Above: STOP for Red
It looks like OPI is following suit with essie and their need to include a red polish in every collection…. I have to say, however, this red is unique and very pretty. It’s similar in formula to the dark blue, My Car has Navy-gation, and is jelly-esque. I am looking forward to trying this hue over a white base.

A beautiful creamy purple/pink hue, I think this will be my go-to for summer toes!
So there you have it. 9 polishes from the OPI Brights collection including 3 re-releases from last summer. I think it would be fun to experiment with a white base coat to see how much theses colours pop, but for those who don’t want to spend the extra time applying another layer of polish, all shades are very true to tone reflecting what the polish looks like in the bottle.
Have you tried any of these hues yet? What’s your favourite? Which ones will you give a miss to?
Until next time,
