Day 17/31 of The Oh Mon Dieux Nail Art Challenge and let’s see where we’re at:
Today’s prompt is: Galaxy Nails! Galaxy nails are not new or unique – the trend has definitely been on the nail art scene for a few years now. That said, I have yet to try this design myself (can you believe it?). There sure is inspiration everywhere though – the galaxy pattern is everywhere in fashion from galaxy patterned leggings to sneakers and even phone cases!
The fun thing about the galaxy pattern is that it no longer has to be dark blues and blacks. Pastel galaxy nails are gorgeous and I’ve even seen some neon galaxy nails too that are sure to light of the room.
Today I chose a variety of pinks and purples for my first attempt at galaxy nails.
Polishes used from left to right:
- Sinful Colors: Snow Me White
- China Glaze: Fairy Dust
- Sephora by OPI: Iris I was Thinner, Seeing Pink Elephants and Casting Call
- OPI: Girls Love Ponies, Want to Bite my Neck? and Push and Pur-pull
I first polished my nails white and then sponged on the variety of pinks and purples using a cut off portion of a make-up sponge. I then finished off using a toothpick dipped in white polish for the stars and added Fairy Dust for a sparkly effect.
I think I know why this design is so popular! Galaxy nails are easy to do AND they’re gorgeous! Next time I’m going to try blue and green pastels.
Until next time,
