As I mentioned just last week, I’ve been busy trying to get all the Nicole by OPI Carrie Underwood swatches done. If you missed the fun preview I posted of the pinks (which is apparently Carrie’s favourite colour because there are five of them in this collection), then you can check it out here.
Let’s get right to the swatches. For all swatches I used Nicole by OPI 3-in-1 as my base and topcoat which I reviewed here.
American as American Pie is probably on of my favourites. A bright apple red that only took two coats for full coverage. I’ll definitely be putting this in my go-to-red pile (if my mother doesn’t steal this color first…)
Sing Like a Bee looks like a textured polish, but it’s not. It’s a creamy goldy white with tiny mircro sparkles. At first I thought this was going to be the exact same as Ski Slope Sweetie from the Christmas Mariah Carey by OPI Collection (because it looks identical in the bottle), but actually, as you can see, it looks quite different. The polish looks nice as well as a thin coat over a solid color but I this is three fairly thick coats.
Carnival Cotton Candy is another favourite of mine. Just such a fun cotton candy color that goes on extremely well and looks great with three thin coats. I’ve tried a number of polishes similar to this color, and I’ve found the formulas are always difficult to work with often leaving an uneven finish – but this was not a problem with this polish.
Fisher Queen is an irradescent purple that is absolutely stunning in direct light, as shown below. In shade, it’s more of an opaque dark smoky purple. This is just 2 coats.
Carried Away is Carrie’s signature gold sparkle polish. Pretty sparkly and fun, but similar to a lot of others out there. If you don’t have a perfect gold sparkle polish, you won’t be disappointed with this one. Backstage Pass is a dark cranberry/burgundy/brown iridescent polish. Goes on well with two coats.
Lips Are Dripping Honey is one of the two glitter polishes included in the Nicole by OPI Carrie Underwood collection and is a polish with gold and silver hex and micro glitter suspended throughout. No fishing for glitter necessary here!
Color Me Country is another favourite of mine (yes I love my reds and pinks). It’s a creamy darker candy cotton color and looks great with three thin coats.
Southern Charm is a nude polish included in the collection. Shown here is 3 thin coats. Some Hearts is a coral pinky red color that could almost be mistaken for OPI Cajun Shrimp with a little more pink in it. 3 thin coats for full opacity.
Party Bus is the second glitter included in the collection and does require a little fishing to get out the larger flower shaped silver glitter that tend to sink to the bottom of the polish. I think it’s well worth the effort though for the finished look. Shown here over American as American Pie.
I hope you enjoyed the swatches and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask! What’s your favourite from the collection? What can you live without? Would love to hear.
