Today is another edition of #naillinkup! If you haven’t already taken part but you like to do your nails and meet other nail enthusiasts, you can find more information on how to join HERE. I’m doing well so far for January and have completed Marsala and Rubber Duckies so with a little over a week to go in January I think I’ll get all four designs done!
Today’s theme is: newspaper nails. If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you may remember I had a tutorial on how to achieve newspaper nails. If you missed it, you can check it out HERE.
Today I created a super simple, but chic design. I used ella+mila beach resort blue, which is an absolutely perfect sky blue colour. Then I used newspaper nail tattoos that I have had in my collection for ages and have been meaning to try, for my accent nails. The combined look gave me the perfect newspaper nails.
I purchased the Fing’rs Edge Nail Tattoos at Walmart over a year ago, but you can still get them on amazon for $10.59. They nail tattoos come in a package with two small nail polishes (one cream, one grey) and three different types of tattoos ( 10 chevrons, 10 NYC metro map & 10 newspapers). I’m glad I finally had a chance to try them out because they are SO EASY TO USE and I can’t wait to try the others.
To use the nail tattoos, all you do is take the nail tattoo and soak it in water for 10 seconds, then apply directly to your dry polished nail (image side to nail) and hold it for 10 seconds. Voila – the image transfers directly to the nail. Top with topcoat and you have a really effective design! If you get any of the excess tattoo on your finger, it’s easy to clean off with a little bit of acetone.
I know this design is simple, but I really like the combo of ella+mila beach resort blue with the newspaper nails.
Until next time,
