I have something to admit.

I’m addicted to lipstick.

Bold, natural, glossy, matte – I don’t care, I want it and I want it now. Burt's-Bees-Lipstick-with-ribbons

That’s why when Burt’s Bees wanted to collaborate with me on their newest innovation in natural beauty products – LIPSTICKS – I jumped at the opportunity (obviously). In addition to their new line of 100% natural lipsticks, Burt’s Bees has also just released BB creams with SPF 15. Hello summer skin!

As I’ve already admitted to you, I’m a lipstick addict, or some might say – a lipstick junkie. Despite my addiction, I still have standards (we all need standards, right?). That’s why, when testing 100% all natural lipsticks, I’m always a little hesitant to their quality (mainly concerned about pigmentation and staying power). This was NOT an issue with Burt’s Bees lipsticks.

burt's-bees-lipstick-heart-ribbonsThe Burt’s Bees lipsticks are infused with moringa and raspberry seed oil as well as beeswax and Vitamin E, all to help hydrate and moisturize dry lips. How can a lipstick deliver lip balm qualities while at the same give intense pigmentation?

Not only do these lipsticks provide incredible soothing qualities to help perfect your smile, the colours are stunning! With two or three swipes, pigmentation is fantastic and the best part? They actually stay on! I tested a number of the 14 shades and hand to heart, these lipsticks last (I wore shade 532 Russet –  for at least 6 hours before reapplying – I even ate lunch!).

What colour would work for you?swatches-collageThe hues range from brownish neutrals to cool soft pinks to deep raspberries offering a beautiful satin finish. Hard to make a decision, right?

Burt's-Bees-Lipstick-with-RibbonA bonus with Burt’s Bees lipsticks: That packaging is made from 50% post-consumer plastic, leaving less of a carbon footprint. I love that these really are lipsticks that give back.

After a long winter of fuelling our skin with heavy moisturizer and attempting to achieve an even skin tone with the right foundation, it’s finally May and you know what that means right? Time to switch it up to BB Cream – a lighter product that offers moisturizing benefits and coverage in one product and my job with Nail That Accent is to help you find the right one.BB-Cream-Burt's-Bees-instagramI always love testing new BB Creams, because I’m determined to find the perfect one. Many people believe that you can’t have a light formula that also offers full coverage, but I assure you, the right BB cream will do the trick. I’m not blessed with angelic skin and I’m embarrassed to leave the house without foundation. I have combination skin, dark circles under my eyes and unfortunately still have regular breakouts (even at 37!). It’s rare for me to find a BB Cream that really speaks to me.

Once again, Burt’s Bees has completely altered my perception of a BB Cream. This BB Cream has actually given me the confidence to step outside without foundation.Burt's-Bees-BB-cream-review-rose

Available in three shades, the light-medium works best for me.  The formula is light-weight but still completely evens out my skin tone and conceals what I don’t want to reveal (goodbye blemishes and dark circles).

Being 98.7% natural, using these BB creams, I love that I get the benefit of using earth-friendly beauty products.

What’s The Verdict?

If you believe in all-natural beauty products, then you will be in love with Burt’s Bees lipsticks and BB Cream. If you’re indifferent when it comes to all-natural beauty products, then you too will be obsessed with these products. Perhaps the best part of all? They’re completely affordable: lipstick $9.99 CAD, BB Cream $17.99.
