When I got a few new polishes from the Mariah Carey Christmas collection by OPI I knew that my first one to try had to be Wonderous Star. I decided against doing a regular swatch (because I’m hitting the town for a girls night out tonight), and instead added some nail art accents to my gorgeous Wonderous Star polish.
Wonderous Star is a sparkly medium gold color with flecks of black matte sparkle. I absolutely love it. It looks great with just two coats (as is shown below) but I’m looking forward to trying one thin translucent coat over an opaque color like mauve or lilac. If you want a total opaque coverage, than I would recommend three coats.
For this manicure I did white roses over a watercolor nail art technique with three different pinks.
Polishes Used for the Pink Rose Nail Art:
- Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear “White On” for a base
- OPI “Mod About You”, Essie “Pink Works” and Urban Outfitters “Cupcake” blended with a little acetone to thin out the polish for a watercolor look
- White Acrylic Paint for the roses
- Glisten & Glow “HK Girl” topcoat
