One of my favorite things to do when I have some free time or need a pick me up is to draw and paint in my sketch book. I carry around a little black book, a pastel set and some water colors for when I’m “in the mood” and if I’m lucky I’ll find a great spot at a cafe (maybe even with some friends) and sketch away (no it’s not always nail related).
As I mentioned in my previous CND SPRING COLLECTION swatches, I fell in love with Vinylux “Mint Convertible” and I really wanted to create some nail art with it so this is the initial inspiration behind this nail art.
Mint, Black and Gold – The Perfect Combo
I love mint, black and gold together – so I knew I wanted to combine these colors (see previous nail art with this combination on INSTAGRAM)
It All Starts With a Sketch
With latte in hand, I started to sketch out some designs and painted my base with CND Vinylux “Mint Convertible” and OPI “4 in the Morning” from the Gwen Stefani collection. I wanted to add some gold, so I chose OPI “Love.Angel.Music.Baby” also from the Gwen Stefani for OPI collection.
I then did my accent nail which is a hand painted tribal design using a striping brush. I probably could have stopped here because I love this look on it’s own.
I then added the ruffian or ‘reverse french’ to the design.
I’m really thrilled with the look.
What do you think?
Until next time,
