As someone who has combination skin (oily in places, dry in others) and battles with pimples (yes, even at age 36!)…I’m always looking for foundations that provide the smoothest coverage. Trying the newest innovations in foundation is always a priority for me.
A good foundation is essential for creating a smooth and flawless look. While I tend to go for lighter bb creams and tinted moisturizers in the summer, as soon as september hits, I’m all over the foundation.
Make Up For Ever is definitely a leader in innovation and technology when it comes to makeup, so I was super excited to try the Make Up Forever Ultra HD Foundation, the first and only foundation designed for the demands of the most advanced 4K technology in the film and TV industry. The formula is available in both a liquid and stick formula, but I only tested out the Ultra HD Liquid Foundation in shade R260. The liquid foundation is available in 40 shades and the stick foundation, in 15. The makeup artists at Sephora are really helpful, so if you make a trip to a Sephora near you, someone can help you find the exact shade to match your skin tone. The Make Up Forever Ultra HD Liquid Foundation has an easy to use pump that allows you to control the amount of product that is dispensed.Long lasting with a natural-looking finish, Ultra HD Liquid Foundation is formulated with hyaluronic spheres that are invisible under the latest, super-focused 4K lens. This foundation is not only completely invisible to the naked eye, but can’t be seen by the most intense digital devices! How cool is that? #nofilter needed. One of my favourite things about this foundation (aside from it being invisible to digital devices, and the naked eye), is that you can create both a light and more intense coverage, depending on your preference. Either use a buffing brush in a circular motion to create a light coverage, or your can build your coverage by using a flat foundation brush or sponge.
To show you as true a result as I could without you being right in front of me, I tested the Make Up For Ever Ultra HD liquid foundation first thing in the morning (before I applied any makeup). I used these Oil of Olay wet cleansing wipes to remove any excess make-up from the day before.I like these wipes because they’re gentle yet still strong enough to remove makeup (they’re great for lipstick swatching too). Once my face was completely clean I took a before picture and then applied my foundation (no base and no concealer). I used a flat foundation brush to build the formula.
You can see that the Make Up Forever Ultra HD foundation completely evened out my skin tone. I am so impressed! I don’t feel like the foundation was caked on either, which is usually what my skin feels like with a full coverage foundation. Pretty amazing right? I blended the foundation on my neck a little too to even everything out.
I can’t speak highly enough of Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Liquid Foundation – I’m now curious about the Ultra HD stick! You can pick up this foundation to match your skintone perfectly at a Sephora near you for $50 CAD/$43 USD.
Until next time,
