Lemons are one of my favourite fruit. They have so many heath benefits:
- Lemons are a fabulous antiseptic
- They’re high in Vitamin C
- They’re high in anti-oxidants
There are also a zillion and one beauty benefits to lemon-infused products (clarifying moisturizers, cleansing wipes, teeth whiteners, skin brighteners, lip exfoliators, nail strengtheners, hair lighteners)….and the list goes on.
Today’s lemon inspired post is dedicated to my friend Bella who blogs at: Seize the Nail. You may remember her beautiful watercolour floral design she created way back when for Nail That Accent (still a favourite on the site). It’s Bella’s birthday today, so I created one of my favourite looks she created – bright lemon nails!
To create this look I used my new neon pink polish from Finger Paints Warhol Wannabe. Sally’s Beauty had a great deal, buy 2 Finger Paint polishes and get the third free, so I treated myself to three neons (the summer isn’t gone yet ok?!).
Then for my lemon nails I used white acrylic paint to create the base of the design. I then filled in the lemons and leaves with yellow and green acrylic paint. Finally I used a small brush and black acrylic paint to create the details. I topped the whole design with Seche Vite top coat.
I think these fun lemon nails are perfect for my work summer party tonight, don’t you?
Until next time,
