Summer is coming to an end (sigh) but I still have some summer nail polish collections to review. With timing being tight, and nail polish stress becoming a little overwhelming, I’m lucky I have some talented blogger friends to help me with my reviews. Jacqui, from Craftynail did a fantastic job at reviewing the LCN Phantasia collection below. See previous LCN post HERE.
This summer is characterized by creativity and strong colors and the motto to be individual instead of monotonous. With Phantasia, ingenuity shows courage and artistic freedom. With these colors on the fingernails, being in a good mood is guaranteed!
Phantasia was released for summer 2014 and consists of 4 sizzling shades- Phantasia, Coralicious, Raspberry Lollipop and Crazy Blueberry. This LCN set comes in a cube (which is really just a cute box) and the bottles are relatively small at 8ml each. Unfortunately, 2 of my 4 bottles had defective brushes with bristles sticking out. I trimmed the unruly bristles with cuticle scissors and they seemed to work fine after that. But still, it’s worth noting.
Now let’s look at LCN’s 4 shades…First up is the namesake of the set- Phantasia, a shimmery teal. Phantasia was more opaque than I expected since shimmers can sometimes be very sheer. But I only needed two coats of this one for full opacity. It looks brushstrokey in the photos, but it wasn’t as noticeable in real life. I think this is a pretty color, who doesn’t love a good mermaid teal?
Next we have Coralicious. What a super vibrant coral! My camera can’t handle. Very opaque and the thickest formula of the bunch. Two coats did the trick, but honestly, two didn’t look that different than one. This a nice bright color for summer.
Raspberry Lollilop is a bold raspberry color. This one surprised me once I got it on the nail- it’s sexy and stunning. The formula was a tad more jelly-like than the others. Shown here is two coats, and it looks very shiny in real life.
Lastly we have Crazy Blueberry. This is dark purple that leans towards blue. Almost a one-coater but I used two for these photos.
I also came up with some summery scales nail art using all four colors!
What would be my top pick from the collection? I’d say the teal- Phantasia. We may have seen some of the other shades before, but Phantasia is worth picking up if you enjoy greens and teals like I do.
Find out more about LCN Phantasia polishes at the LCN Canada site or here at LCN USA. LCN is a professional brand so you may find them at the salon as well. They retail for around $6.25 CAD each for an 8ml bottle.
