The term vintage denotes something of high quality and lasting value, or showing the best and most typical characteristics of a particular type of thing, especially from the past. When it comes to fashion, I love vintage handbags and jewlery and I absolutely love going to old second hand stores and sifting through to find quality, unique pieces from the past.
Today I’m showing you some nail decals by a La Vita e Bella 1996, a company who specializes in artisan vintage nail decals. “La Vita e Bella” is an Italian name which means “Life is Beautiful”.
I love these old school 1960s vintage consumer packaged good decals – they remind me of the tv series Mad Men – any Mad Men lovers out there? Aren’t they cute?
The decals come in two sheets with various images. Application is super easy. Once your nail polish is dry, simply cut the decal off the larger sheet and immerse it into water for 10-15 seconds. Once the decal detaches from the white backing, you can apply it to your dried nail. Simply press down with a cotton ball for 5-10 secs to soak up the excess water and apply top coat (AVOID QUICK DRY TOP COAT as this will create bubbles in the design).
The only criticism I have with this particual series of nail decals is the size. I really wanted to use the crest toothpaste decal but my nails aren’t long enough. I had to choose some of the smaller images. If you have long nails, you have nothing to worry about. That said, there are a variety of smaller decals for shorter nails too.
A fun and creative way to wear a different type of nail decal.
Check out La Vita e Bella as they have a variety of fun vintage designs from vintage floral to vintage cats!
Until next time,
