I must confess that I’ve been lusting over Isabel Marant’s platform sneakers for years. While some of you might say…”$400 for sneakers, are you crazy?”, others of us will say, “you’re right, I am crazy, but I want them anyway”. Who are these so called crazies you might ask? The crazy is me, and after succumbing to high end knock offs by Ash (which are also ridiculously overpriced…but yes I still own two pairs…did I just admit that?), I finally purchased my coveted pair of Isabel Marant sneakers last year (yes I own three pairs of platform sneakers). My awesome Isabel Marant sneakers are securely placed on a high shelf (away from my 3-year old chocolate lab) and are only accessed when there is absolutely no chance of rain (or snow for that matter). I’ve also collected a few other Isabel Marant pieces over the years including a gorgeous pair of multi-colored cords that are my go-to accent of choice for my outfit when I have no idea what to wear. Pair these with a black or white solid top, black boots and a sophisticated necklace and I’m complete.
When I heard that Isabel Marant is launching an affordable line for H&M, needless to say I started dreaming of all the outfit possibilities she would come up with. I got even more excited when my 42 year-old designer sister asked if I wanted to line up with all the teeny bobbers at the crack of dawn and be the first in line on November 14th outside of H&M (she said she would blog about it for work, so it was definitely worthy off taking some time of work to go).
Don’t have the budget for Isabel Marant, or the patience to wait in line at H&M? How about some nail art inspired by your favourite piece? I love the patterned sweatshirt. Who knew fleece could be fashionable? No longer reserved for weekends on the sofa, Isabel is taking sweatshirts to new heights. Despite the fact that this sweatshirt is actually in the men’s line, it’s my must have piece (size small please). Just in case I don’t land it, I’ve designed my own nail art to sport with a pair of skinny jeans and a t-shirt. Stay tuned for some more Isabel Marant nail art designs in case I chicken out of the line at H&M or in case I don’t make it back alive.
