I’ve been playing around with glitter placement over the last few weeks, ever since I met the awesome Laura from http://www.polishallthenails.com/ who is the absolute expert when it comes to glitter placement.
I have to say, it’s not nearly as time consuming as I thought and simple designs are a lot easier than I thought too! If you’re at all weary…don’t be. It’s fun, easy and the impact is stunning.
Purple and Silver Sparkle
For this look I used some nail polishes from the Mariah Carey for OPI Christmas collection and the Miss Universe Collection by OPI including:
- OPI “I’m Feeling Sashy” mauve purple
- OPI ” Baby please come home” Liquid Sand
- OPI “I snow you love me” glitter formula for the glitter which I removed from the polish and placed individually on the nail with an orange stick on top of a top coat
- Top Coat Glisten and Glow HK Girl top coat
- The micro bead star was a gift from a friend in Japan, but you could put these on individually as well to form a star
Black Matte Meets Gold Glitter
These would be gorgeous New Year’s Eve nails I think! I think these ones are my favourite.
For this look I used:
- black base Sephora by OPI “What’s in a Tire Jack?”
- Essie “Matte About You” topcoat
- loose glitter (Essence Nail Art) applied with an orange stick on top of wet topcoat
Silver Ruffian Sparkle
For this look I used:
- black base Sephora by OPI “What’s in a Tire Jack?” for the base creating a ruffian
- Silver Nails Inc “South Kensington”
- Essie “Matte About You” topcoat
- loose glitter (purchased from Walmart) applied with an orange stick on top of wet topcoat
Rainbow Glitter
This was my first glitter placement. Can you see an improvement?
For this look I used:
- black base Sephora by OPI “What’s in a Tire Jack?”
- Essie “Matte About You” topcoat
- loose glitter (purchased from Walmart) applied with an orange stick on top of wet topcoat
Next goal? To play with different shapes of glitter (diamonds, square, lines etc).
