This week’s Beauty Buff theme is: Royal Blue. Royal blue is the perfect accent color for the spring season. Whether it’s trendy royal blue jeans, a royal blue handbag or royal blue nails, there is no doubt that you need some royal blue in your life. Almost all of the nail polish lines have a royal blue color that has launched within the last year or two.
One of my favorite blues to work with is essie “bouncer it’s me”. Today I’ve created some geometric nail art featuring “bouncer it’s me” which is the perfect royal blue.
I have been wanting to play with some geometric nail art for a while so I created this design which was inspired by a geometric black, blue and white bracelet I saw in the April edition of InStyle magazine (nail art inspiration comes from everything around me).
I used striping tape to create the a thick white band over the blue polish and then used smaller pieces of striping tape to make the triangle shapes. I then painted in the black triangles and removed the tape while the polish was still wet. I then finished with HKGirl top coat. Here is the finished look.
I loved how this geometric nail art turned out. I think they would have looked really great finished with a matte topcoat too. Would you wear geometric nails? How do you accent with royal blue?
