From OPI Color Paints, to essie Silk Watercolors, today I have another new but similar collection to show you, Sephora’s Formula X Infinite Ombre mini collection.

When I was thinking of what to do for day 5 of the OMD3 31 day nail art challenge,(theme: colourful nails) I knew I had to do something a little different and I was dying to try my new Formula X Infinite Ombre Kit from Sephora.

Unlike the essie Silk Watercolor and OPI Color Paints collections, the Formula X Infinite Ombre Collection comes in a cute little square box package with just five polishes.

I like that there are fewer polishes in this collection, as the whole concept behind these is to mix the colours to achieve another colour, so why do we need so many polishes? On the inside of the box are three different tutorials to show you how to achieve a few different looks.sephora formula x, formula x infinite ombre, formula x infinite ombre nails, ombre nails, colorful nails, nail artLike the OPI Color Paints Collection, silver is used as the metallic base color to help the colors pop in a metallic way. There are four colours in the collection: indigo (Infinite Indigo), yellow (limitless lemon), red (boundless berry) & teal (timeless teal) as well as the silver base coat (platinium prime).sephora formula x, formula x infinite ombre, formula x infinite ombre nails, ombre nails, colorful nails, nail art, formula x platinium primeI chose to do a dry brush technique and played with overlapping the colours to achieve the colourful look.sephora formula x, formula x infinite ombre, formula x infinite ombre nails, ombre nails, colorful nails, nail artThe Formula X Infinite Ombre colours, when swiped over the silver (make sure it’s dry) are so beautifully metallic, when I wore them I received so many comments asking if my nails were done with foils.
formulaxombreFormula X Infinite Ombre is not like the essie watercolor collection (they are not watercolor like at all) and is probably more similar to OPI Color Paints. I like how the bottles are smaller too, so you do not have to invest in 8 colors plus the silver base, as you do with OPI. You can achieve just the same look with fewer polishes as they mix so well together.sephora formula x, formula x infinite ombre, formula x infinite ombre nails, ombre nails, colorful nails, nail art

Im so loving how these turned out. They’re so much fun to play with! You can find Formula X Infinite Ombre at Sephora for $35 CAD/$29.50 USD!

Until next time,

nail that accent
