Summer is just around the corner so what better time to make your decisions about which summer nail polishes you want to invest in?
Inspired by strong women and powerful colors, essie launches their summer collection: colors in the wild. According to essie founder, Essie Weingarten the essie summer 2014 collection is “Dedicated to the woman who isn’t afraid to take control and ruffle some feathers on her way to the top, these colors take their cues from the animal kingdom. It’s a jungle out there, and success is a matter of suvival of the chic-est. Now is the purrrrfect time to channel summer’s sexy energy and go for full-force fashion in ravishing colour that’s destined to lead the pack.”
essie’s colors in the wild collection has six new creme shades:
urban jungle – irresistible alabaster orchid
fierce, no fear – intense cocoa mahagany
roarrrange – unstoppable, bold orange
strut you stuff – compelling cobalt aqua
ruffles & feathers – powerful peacock teal
haute in the heat – unforgettable hot guava
Urban jungle is a really pretty creamy nude color. It has a beigey pink undertone and is a the perfect summer nude. I don’t have anything like this in my collection. Shown here with two coat and essie good to go top coat.
fierce, no fear
fierce no fear is the perfect chocolate brown polish. The consistency of the formula is perfect, and gives you full coverage in two thin coats. If you’re looking to add a brown to your collection, this could be the one. Looks great with all the summer animal print designs.
roarrrange is your staple bright orange. Applied in two thin coats, this polish goes on like a dream and is bright and shiny without even adding a topcoat. I know there are a lot of oranges out there, but after reviewing so many summer collections one thing is clear – orange polish is in!
strut your stuff
What a gorgeous aqua blue this polish is! I have so many essie blues and I’ve compared all of them to this, and nothing is as bright and vibrant as strut your stuff . I was really impressed by the formula and application of this polish as well. So far, no disappointments.
ruffles & feathers
ruffles & feathers is a green teal/turquoise color. Once again, it’s shown here in two thin coats and the formula is perfect. Definitely an original bright and fun color for the summer – I’m in love 🙂
haute in the heat
haute in the heat is my only real dissappointment in this colleciton. Another creamy red with fushia undertones? Did I not just swatch Style Hunter for essie’s sring collection? Is it not almost identical? I’ll have to do a side by side soon. There’s definitely a tiny bit more pink in haute in the heat but I can barely tell the difference.
