Every spring, essie lovers world-wide look forward to the small four polish “Resort” collection. Essie Weingarten, Founder and Global Creative Director gives us a little insight into the inspiration behind the collection:
Escape the madding crowd and follow your bliss to a place of infinite tranquility and calm. Resort season is here at last with fresh, compelling looks to keep you cool when the sun is blazing. This sweet season is the perfect time to reset and recharge the batteries – physically, mentally and stylishly. So, get out there and discover your own secret hideaway where you can saturate yourself in sun, sand and a gorgeous wardrobe of colour.
And what better way to start a holiday than with a mini spa retreat? Melt tension, leave your cares behind and coddle yourself in luxe. A little me-time will pave the way to vacation elation in no time. So splurge on the oceanview suite, curl up on a chaise and admire the view – your personal party in paradise has begun.
So maybe we’re not all destined for a luxurious resort holiday but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a little taste of paradise by indulging in essie resort 2015, correct?
Similar (but NOT THE SAME) to the 2014 collection, essie resort 2015 includes four shades, from left to right (cocoa karma, suite retreat, time for me time, and stones ‘n’ roses). All swatches below are shown with two coats and NO TOP COAT (yes they are that shiny!)
cocoa karma is a warm brown colour that is so creamy, you almost don’t need a second coat. Almost like you’re wearing milk chocolate on your fingertips, this colour would be elegant with jeans and a white t. Speaking of jeans and a white t – I have a fantastic brown fedora in this exact brown shade – I see the perfect outfit coming together already. Go away freezing Toronto cold!
Such a perfect indigo color, suite retreat (great name right?) is the perfect accent for any outfit where bold and edgy meets classy and chic. Make a statement with a contrasting bright red lip, or wear this colour understated with soft greys and neutrals. Another almost one-coater – the formula is divine.
time for me time
time for me time is a gorgeous pearlescent hue that is extremely difficult to catch on camera. It’s colour shifts between soft pink to pearly white. A little more difficult to apply, ensure you only apply a few brush strokes and do not move the polish around too much once you’ve applied one layer. The photos here show complete coverage with two coats.
stones ‘n’ roses
What a gorgeous peachy orange! Perfect for the spring and summer, stones ‘n’ roses is definitely a must-have in this collection. Combine this hue with silver or gold as an accent finger and you’ve got the perfect manicure.
As with all essie collections that always seem to deliver beyond expectation, essie resort 2015 is no exception. With only four shades, why not treat yourself to the full collection? Each of these colours will look great on everyone.
essie resort 2015 is available in the US as of February and will be available in drugstores, salons and other beauty destinations across Canada in April 2015.
Until next time,
