Happy Sunday!
I love the look of ombre anything – ombre hair styles, ombre clothing and definitely ombre nails! Ombre nail art was one of the very first techniques I learned to do. Although it takes practice to make the look entirely seamless, even a beginner can get a fantastic look. If you missed my OMBRE nail tutorial, you can see how I create these nails by using a makeup sponge HERE.
Today I was having a look at my Essie fall and winter 2013 collections (see swatches HERE) and realised how fantastic the bluey/green toned polishes from these two collections looked together (Essie Vested Interest from the fall collection and Essie Mind Your Mittens and Parka Perfect from the Winter collection). I decided I wanted to use these colors together in some nail art and knew they would be perfect to create a winter ombre look.
I then thought it would be fun to play with some nail studs I got from Claire’s and designed my accent nail to complement the look. I designed the pattern on paper first and then put it on my nails.
What do you think?
Hope you enjoyed this look.
Until next time,

What I wouldn’t give for a makeup sponge right now… this look is fierce! Love the armored effect♡
Thank u. I’m so in love with this. I can’t stop staring at my nails. Don’t want to half them off for golden globe nails tomorrow…
You should rent a hand model 😉
I always need hand models
I love the wintery feel of the blue-green-grey polishes, they look gorgeous on the ombre nails! The accent nail is amazing too 🙂
I’m so in love with these, it was hard for me to take them off….
