Squeezing in one more manicure for the last prompt of the February N.A.I.L here is a quick look at my least favourite polish: essie bulgaria.
Kind of a funny prompt that we came up with when choosing the theme: least favourite polish. The idea is simple. Go out of your comfort zone and try to create some nailart with a nail polish that you have tried in the past and just not been in love with – we all have those polishes in our collections, right?
It didn’t take me long to think of the polish I would use – essie bulgaria, from their 2013 encrusted treasures holiday collection.
essie bulgaria is a black textured polish that has larger pieces of shiny sequin-esque glitters suspended throughout. It looks glossy when you apply it, but dries to a somewhat (not completley which is the weird part), matte finish.
I was always unhappy with the swatches I did, so have a look at some others’ below:
So, if you haven’t tried this polish yourself, do you kind of get where I’m coming from when I think of essie bulgaria as my least favourite polish?
I tried to create some interesting nailart with essie bulgaria adding some pink, black and silver nail art studs as well as essie blanc, and this is what I came up with.
I think essie bulgaria definitely does a better job as an accent to an other-wise non-essie bulgaria mani. I do like how this look turned out and it did force me to think outside the box so all in all, success with this N.A.I.L theme. I hope you join me with your manicures in the March N.A.I.L (themes coming soon).
Have you tried this polish before?
Until next time,

The first time I saw this polish I thought it was kinda crazy, but it’s definitely grown on me! I love what you did with it, super elegant 🙂
