The first month with a baby has been a crazy whirlwind. As a new mom, I’ve been desperate for anything that makes my life easier (why did no one tell me a newborn was this much work?), but also that helps calm my baby girl. I’ve tried and tested so many baby products over the last 4 weeks (see my newborn essentials list) and some have been a huge HIT with my newborn, while others I could have probably have saved my $$$ on. Today I want to talk about about one item that has been a serious miracle in my household. Enter the DockATot!dockatot, co sleeping, baby sleeper, baby, newborn, newborn essentials, mommy blogger, cosleeper, bassinet

What Is The DockATot?

The DockATot is a multi-functional co-sleeper and lounger, (I’ve even used it as a make-shift change table while on the move). It comes in 2 sizes (Deluxe for 0-8 Months, Grand 9-36 months). The DockATot is handmade in Europe, but designed in Sweden (I have a thing for Scandinavian designed anything!). Being 100% cotton, it’s an ideal micro-climate for babies and tots because of it’s fantastic breathability. I’ve been told that the Grand is perfect for toddler bed transitions, but that’s a little ways away for me so I can’t speak to that yet!

Why I Love The DockATot

I have a regular bassinet set up in our bedroom, but I swear she sleeps way better in her DockATot. I use it in our basement, but I move the DockATot around with me depending on where I’ll be when she’s either sleeping or just hanging out with me. It’s narrow fit replicates the feeling of when Ellie was in my womb so I think that’s why she loves it so much. She sleeps in it swaddled as well as with no blankets at all so I think your baby will be comfy regardless of whether they like to be swaddled or not.

Another massive plus for the DockATot is how stylish it is. I have the classic white cover  that is 100% machine washable. For backup I also have the pink strawberry cream cover. There are so many options to pick from including pineapples, chevrons and even carrara marble! I also have a removable toy bar that I use to help stimulate Ellie when she feels like having a look around, which is happening more and more these days.
