Toronto Mastercard World Fashion Week has continued on with a bang this week. I’ve had so much fun being part of the essie Canada team of artists. I think one of the highlights has definitely been the gorgeous bridal line by David Dixon – can we say I’m thinking about another wedding just so I can wear one of his dresses?
David Dixon
essie captured the moment perfectly in their press release: The David Dixon runway collection was a scrumptious delight as flowing gowns and delicate ensembles floated down the runway. The nail look was elegant, understated, and featured a trio of essie’s most beloved shades with a fashion-forward twist on the classic french manicure.
We started with essie’s “Ridge Filling Base Coat” and then used two coats of “Blanc”. To mute the brightness of the white, we then added a coat of sheer pastel pink “Limo-Scene”. We then added a french tip using “Fiji”, an opaque creamy pale pink, finishing off with essie’s “Good to Go” Top Coat.
Here is the man himself, David Dixon with the three colors we used for his look, Blank, Limo-Scene and Fiji.

Pink Tartan
I absolutely love Pink Tartan and have been wearing the line’s clothes for years now so needless to say I was super excited to what was in store for Mastercard World Fashion Week. Kim Newport-Mimran, President and Creative Director of Pink Tartan worked with Rita Remark, Lead Manicurist for essie to create a Winter’s Nude look inspired by the look of caribou antlers. The collection, which featured opulent furs, sleek knits, and supple leathers, was based around a woman who is weathering a cold, harsh winter — in style, of course!
For this look we started with essie’s “Ridge Filling Base Coat”, then added one coat of the beige-taupe “Sand Tropez”, topping the look off with “Vanity Fairest”, a shimmery pastel pink. As always, we finished the look with a top coat of essie’s Good To Go.
Kim loved the look so much that that she took a moment with the essie nail team to get her own nails done! Guess who was the lucky one who got to do her nails? Yours truly – Moi (and they looked fabulous).
