Mother’s day is around the corner, so why not treat your mom (or yourself) to a little bit of luxury with a lipstick that she would never splurge on herself? The other day I showed you the beautiful Estee Lauder Pure Color Envy Lipstick which could be one pick for Mother’s Day, but today I have two more gorgeous Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Moisturizing Lipsticks to show you, as another option for your mom (or for yourself!).
In January, Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Moisturizing Lipsticks added new matte shades to their already very successful collection of moisturizing lipsticks. We sure love our matte lippies, don’t we? With the same long lasting, moisturizing results as Elizabeth Arden Color Moisturing Lipsticks, these matte shades have a beautiful finish and today I’m going to show you two from the collection: Barely There and Pucker Pink.
Packaging: The packaging itself is beautiful and luxurious with its solid gold casing. Wrap one of these with a teeny, tiny bow and I think this would be a pretty special gift for any mom.
Each Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Moisturizing Lipstick is embossed with the Elizabeth Arden logo.
Satin-Texture Powders: Provide longwear. Along with emollients and specially-coated pigments, they form a flexible film which adds to the comfort and wear.
Maxi LipTM: Provides lips with a 60% increase in moisturization for a fuller, healthier and plumper looking pout.
Moisture Enriched Pigments: Moisturizing butters surround each pigment to help condition lips while providing rich, lasting colour.
Mango, Shea and Murumuru Butters: Natural emollients help to protect, condition, and soothe
Above: Barely There (44) is a stunning nude matte with an orangey/pink undertone. With nude lips being the trend right now, if you’re a little nervous to pull off the super nude (almost invisible) lip, than Barely There offers a perfect alternative.
Above: Pink Pucker (46) is a soft pink that would look beautiful on almost any skin tone. Throw it in your purse as an everyday colour, or feel safe when picking this shade out for a gift. Apologies for not showing a close up of this lipstick, but unfortunately the top of the lipstick touched the inside of the cap, so when I opened it, I was a little disappointed that it wasn’t in perfect condition. Hopefully this is just an anomaly and doesn’t happen very often.
Tips for applying matte lipstick: exfoliate using a lip exfoliator (my favourtie is e.l.f. studio lip exfoliator). Then apply a lipbalm to slightly moisturize your lips. This will keep your matte lips looking perfectly flawless.
8 shades: Barely There, Bold Red, Chocolate, Coral Crush, Nude, Pink Pucker, Raspberry, and Rose Petal.
Wear Time; Although the claim is 12 hours, the two Elizabeth Arden Beautiful Color Moisturizing Lipsticks that I tried probably lasted about 6 hours, and definitely had to be reapplied after lunch. Perhaps the darker shades stain the lips a little and therefore don’t need to be applied as frequently, but I can’t comment on this.
Availability: $32CAD/$25USD at Hudson’s Bay, Shoppers Drug Mart, London Drugs and in the US, you can purchase directly from Elizabeth Arden.
These lipsticks definitely offer the perfect element of luxury, so don’t hesitate to treat yourself (or your mom) to one of these beauties…or two, or three. Why don’t you get one for your mom and one for you? I have two sisters and when ever we give each other gifts, that’s always what we end up doing so we don’t fight over the original gift! Do you ever do that?
Until next time,
