While we all hated saying goodbye to the neons and  whites that were our summer manicures, we slowly got used to the burnt oranges, burgundies and browns of the fall. Now we can start to look forward to winter because Essie has come out with a fabulous winter 2013 polish collection that is a MUST HAVE. Gone are the greys and blacks of last winter (though these shades will still be my go-to if all else fails) and welcome the warm, creamy, and sparkly winter shades of 2013 by Essie. These colors look great on their own but could also be the perfect accent to a pale grey, bold black or soft neutral manicure.

To glam up these swatches, I used some gorgeous Japanese Brion Nail Art Accessories sent to me by my Japanese nailmail buddy. Aren’t they awesome?

Warm and Toasty Turtleneck

Can you imagine putting on such a gorgeous color to warm you up? I HATE turtlenecks…but I’ll put this one on any day! This stunning lilac creme polish goes on perfectly. The photos show just one coat and no top coat! Can we say – WEAR ME NOW?

Parka Perfect

I know so many people are obsessed with glitter (I love it on others but it isn’t necessarily my go-to). This cream blue is my perfect combination of silver sparkle combined with a cream polish. The sparkle is almost like a half layer of China Glaze ‘Fairy Dust’ – so the perfect amount of sparkle for me. This too was applied as one coat with no top coat. Isn’t this color stunning?

Sable Collar

I think many nail polish fanatics will drool over this duo chrome polish. I’m not a massive duo fan, despite their massive popularity in the nail art community but despite my feelings I think this polish will definitely appeal to many who are looking for that perfect winter duo chrome shade of purple/burgundy. This shows two coats and a top coat.

Mind Your Mittens

Mind Your Mittens is a stunning creme dark turquoise/green. It reminds me of a darker version of Vested Interest from Essie’s fall 2013 collection. I love how it looks so dark and sophisticated. This is two coats and no topcoat.

I am so excited to try “Shearling Darling” could be my colour this season! I’m not usually moved by sparkle but I can definitely see myself “Toggle to the Top” for the Holidays!!!

Mind your Mittens!!! I want it!! Can you give lessons on how to do manicures on yourself without looking like you had your toddler give it a go when he got bored of the play doh?

    1. Lindsay - Nail That Accent

Yes for SURE you can pull it off and Jon will LOVE parka perfect. It will look gorgeous with your skin tone and hair colour. I’m making Alexis wear it, even though she prefers darks. It’s a great colour for blondes!
