A few month’s ago, I met the most incredible freehanded nail art expert. I was absolutely shocked to find out that she is only 22 year’s old! This girl is seriously setting the pace for us oldies aka older aged aspiring nail artists.

Anja, (or Lieve91 as many of you will know her as), is our first Eastern European guest from Slovenia. Her talent is beyond amazing as she does all her nail art completely freehand (i.e. no tape, no special cheat tools, just her and her brush). She’s done nail art that is incredibly trendy (like she did for us today), but she is completely versatile and she really became huge with some hand painted Snoopy Nails  as well as some gorgeous Sunset Scenery Nails.

Thanks for visiting Nail That Accent Anja, over to you.

Hey guys!  I was super excited when Lindsay asked me to be featured as the expert nail artist from Slovenia! So let me start with telling you guys more about myself and how obsession with nail art began.

My name is Anja (pronounced Anya) and I’m 22 years old. I’m from a small country in Europe called Slovenia. I’m doing my masters in Japanese language and in my free time I hang out with my friends, do yoga and of course-I do my nails!

It all started last year when I discovered ombre nail art! Ahh, the technique blew me away! A completely stunning design with only a make-up sponge?! Amazing! Who thought of that? I started doing various ombre designs and then gradually I started experimenting more and more.

After a few months I bought some nail art brushes. I initially used nail polish for my hand painted designs but struggled with the consistency and wondered if others used something else? That was when I discovered acrylic paint!  I was so happy when I got my first Oumaxi paints from www.aliexpress.com. Since then I spend A LOT of time doing my nails and playing with designs using acrylic paint. I can’t explain to you all how much I love nail art! It relaxes me, it makes me happy, it’s like Cindy said in her post– it’s a therapy for me!

Let’s get to today’s chevron nail art design. For the base I used Deborah Milano-Get The Nude Look, and the rest is done with acrylic paint. I just got a new brush from @stylishnailart and I’m loving it! The brush is called Pure Color #10. I really hope you will like this design. It’s not anything special [Nail That Accent: “ummmm yes it sure is!”], but it looks really good in person, especially the nude nail polish! I’m obsessed with it 🙂

For the top coat I used Essence-Sealing top coat and I added one more coat of Essence-Better then gel nails top coat (this one gives it an extra shine) to totally seal the mani.

Anja, you are beyond amazing. This chevron nail art design is incredible, and there is no way I could replicate them (but damn I’m sure going to try). Thanks so much for the beautiful design, and visiting us today.
