Last night I attended the 26th Annual Contessa Awards, the Canadian “gold standard” or Oscars in Canadian beauty awards celebrating the best hair, makeup, nails and top tier artists.
The night was filled with exquisite stage performances to compliment the Elemental theme of the event; laughs, thanks to this year’s MC Noah Cappe of Food Network’s Carnival Eats; and of course, proud award recipients thankful to their peers and colleagues. It was a true celebration of the calibre of our Canadian beauty industry.
Wearing a crimson dress and matching lips, I wanted my nails to be neutral (I was also looking for something that would be work appropriate for the week). Sometimes simple is best, so I turned to one of my favorite colors – Bio Seaweed Gel Coconut (34) with an accent nail of pearls and diamonte studs (the index finger is my accent finger on my other hand).
Bio Seaweed Gel is 5-free: no formaldehyde, toluene, DBP, BHA or solvents and it only has a 5 minute soak off time. When I want something longer wearing and the ultimate shine, I will usually turn to my Bio Seaweed collection.
I love the soft neutral with slight pink undertones of Bio Seaweed Gel for a natural look.
Check out my understated nails compared to these winning enhancements for the Canadian Nail Artist of the year of the 2015 Contessa Awards (see the finalists here).
Until next time,
