These holiday makeup collections are a must have for any makeup enthusiast!
You heard it hear first: Kat Von D loves Canada! The tattooed dynamo’s eponymous makeup collection has launched a limited-edition Canada exclusive (and how often do we hear about international brands doing something EXCLUSIVELY Canadian!) just in time for the holidays. We love Kat Von D for her style, but we also love her for her determination to develop products that are 100% vegan. Which is exactly what you’ll find here: Three all-time favourites lipsticks: Studded Kiss Lipstick in Lolita, a matte dusty rose hue; Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Double Dare, Kat’s go-to nude. Better still, Kat’s classic brush-tip Tattoo Liner takes pride of place with the lipsticks in a large vegan leather makeup bag.
Marc Jacobs has been dominating New York Fashion Week for years. Now’s your chance to let Marc Jacobs Beauty dominate your beauty routine with the Objects of Desire face and eye palette. Marc Jacobs beauty is known for its elegance and shimmery eyeshadow shades. One of my favourite things about this palette is how multi-functional the bronzer is. Sweep it over your eyes for a sophisticated sun-kissed look! The limited edition luminizer has a cool glow to it that will brighten your face. The gold patent vegan leather pouch is definitely on my holiday wish list (even without the cosmetics inside!). What could be better than pairing gold with an oversize tassel!
If you love saturated colour as much as I do, the Smashbox Light it Up 3 palette set: Eyes and Contour Lips is for you. Smashbox worked with neon artist Meryl Pataky to create a collection of colours that are rich and pigmented, including a Be Legendary lipstick palette that includes two of my favourite matte red lipsticks: Jam on it Matte and Bing Matte. If you’re looking to create even more drama, The Photo Op Eye Shadow palette is a collection of shades that blend beautifully together. Amethyst is a must-have deep violet that is stunning on your lids for day or night.
Let’s just start with the name of this collection shall we? The Gritty & Glow Magnetic Eye and Face Palettes! As soon as I saw that this was the name for the The Estee Edit’s latest collection, I was intrigued. And I wasn’t disappointed when I opened the kit! The kit has two very specific palettes – the “Gritty” one is for eyes and the “Glow” is a collection of beautifully pearlized colours that work perfectly for highlighting (I like to use the 14K Glow for my cupid’s bow and the inner corners of my eyes). I also love how Estee Edit uses tiny pearl particles to create a glimmering sheen. One of my favourite things about this kit is that is flattering for every skin tone.
I cannot help but fall in love with Too Faced’s The Chocolate Shop holiday kit. Ever since Too Faced launched in 1998 I’ve been obsessed with the vision of the founders Jerrod Blandino and Jeremy Johnson that every woman should be empowered to create their own version of pretty. And EVERYTHING about Too Faced is pretty. Whether it’s the upbeat and girly packaging or the whimsical names (Better than Sex mascara and Cookie Dough eye shadow) everyone needs to have some Too Faced in their lives. The Chocolate Shop is the perfect way to start! Packed with a large collection of products formulated with an infusion of Too Faced’s delicious antioxidant-rich cocoa powder, The Chocolate shop contains 21 eyeshadows along with everything else you need to create your own ultimate Too Faced look. And who wouldn’t want to buy Toffee Crunch, Mint Chip and Pound Cake eyeshadow? They have zero calories after all! (wink, wink)
