I’ve been playing with two new additions to my makeup collection for the last month and it’s time I share them with you. Today I’ll be showing you the Limited edition Sephora Sun Disk Bronzer as well as Sephora’s Lip Mixology Palette (and we’re not talking drinks).
It’s the beginning of August and despite the PR invites I’ve received to view fall and holiday collections (gasp!), I don’t think we’re anywhere near the end of summer…in fact, I’m just getting my summer groove on (as I write, I’m sporting my new neon pink track pant capris…they’re cooler than they sound ok?).
Now that we’ve established we’re in the middle (yes middle) of summer, let’s talk about a serious stable for any sunkissed look – bronzers. If you haven’t found the perfect bronzer, I’ve found a new favourite – Sephora Limited Edition Sun Disk!
Who doesn’t want a zebra patterned bronzing palette? This paraben free bronzer is da bomb! (do the kids still say that?). This jumbo palette is actually quite large (in hindsight I should have taken some comparison photos) measuring 4.5 inches wide and containing 30g of product. For $24 USD/ $30 CAD, the limited edition Sephora Sun Disk Bronzer is a solid palette probably more for use at home rather than on-the-go.
While the Sephora Sun Disk does contain three shades, they’re so close together in the zebra pattern, that they’re impossible to use on their own, however mixed together, does give that beautiful sun kissed glow to any skin tone.
Sephora Lip Mixology Palette
Now that we’ve established an awesome JUMBO bronzer that you need to add to your collection, let’s talk lips.
If you’re looking for an affordable palette that has a selection of all the colour trends for the season, than look no further. This 25-pan palette feathers a mixture of mini lipsticks from subtle nude to fierce red, all extremely wearable.
The palette itself is very light, with a soft shell transparent cover with lightweight magnetic casing. The casing lacks any luxury whatsoever, but because it’s so light, it’s a great palette to take with you on the go therefore I’ll excuse the cardboard packaging.
The Lip Mixology Palette is divided into 5 colour groups (nude, pink, coral, berry and red) and contains 10 lip glosses (10 x 0.22g/0.007 oz.), 13 lipsticks, a primer and a sparkly clear gloss 15 x 0.26g/0.009 oz.). Swatches above are shown in the same formation as the palette. You can see that there is much more colour pay off from the lipsticks than the glosses, but because the whole point of the palette is to MIX your colours, I think there is a nice variety of shades.
If the lipstick collections this season have been too daunting, or if you aren’t sure if you can pull off nude lips, then this palette is perfect for you because the amounts of each product are so small. At $28 USD/ $34 CAD, it isn’t a massive investment.
So there you have it, my two new limited edition Sephora faves: the Sun Disk bronzer and the Lip Mixology Palette.
Until next time,
